As part of our work studying the ANZAC's at Gallipoli we wrote a diary as if were were there; this is mine:

25th April, 1915

Dear Diary,

As we land on Gallipoli, I load my gun. I can hear a bomb so I try to find a hole to hide in.  We all try to get back to the boat.  I said “where is the boat?”  Our boat is gone .

As we ran around the beach we got lost.   We also lost all of our food as we were fighting the Turks.  All around us I saw people fighting so we pulled out our guns and started to shoot. By the end of the day I was still alive, I am safe for now.
